Ingredients
- Semiya-2 cups
- Ghee 1 spoon
- Green chilli-1
- Dry Red Chilli-2
- Oil- 2 spoons
- Onion-1 (finely chopped)
- Mustard- 1 spoon
- Urad Dal- 1 spoon
- Curry leaves-8
- Water- 1 and half cup
- Salt for taste.
Method
- Fry the Semiya in a spoon of ghee for a minute or two,till they get wrapped in ghee.keep them aside.
- In a kadai, heat 2 spoon's of oil. add the Mustard seeds, Urad dal, slitted green chilli, red chilli and Curry leaves.
- Now add onions,salt and fry them well. when they are fried, add the semiya and mix well.
- Now add the water and let it boil. when it boils, add a spoon of ghee or oil and let the semiya cook.
- after cooking the semiya, close it with a lid and let it rest in the stove for 5 minutes.
You can add Carrot, beans, capsicum, peas to the upma.
