Delicious Halwa made with Carrots & Milk




Ingredients:

  • Carrot(grated) – 250g
  • All purpose flour(Maida) – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – 2 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder(Elakka) – As reqd
  • Cashew nuts(chopped) – 10 to 15 for garnishing
  • Raisins(Onakka munthiri) for garnishing

Method:

  1. Peel the carrots and grate them.
  2. Heat the flour and the milk.
  3. Add the carrots and sugar. Stir well.
  4. Add ghee and stir again.
  5. Keep the lid closed in between stirrings, as there maybe some splashes, when the milk and ghee boil together.
  6. When the milk condenses and the halwa begins to thicken, remove from flame.
  7. Garnish with cashews, raisins roasted in ghee and Cardamom powder.
